Accurate COVID-19 test results are necessary for pandemic surveillance and response – directing testing resources, targeting therapeutics and vaccines, focusing pandemic control measures. Traditional reporting by the labs and testing vendors raises concerns of human & network errors and risks of tampering. As testing moves outside the labs to nursing homes, work sites, airports, etc. concerns about fraud, tampering, and improper PHt handling are even greater. HHS/CDC WATERS – an Oracle COVID-19 Test Results solution based on Oracle Blockchain Platform helps HHS and NIH RADx participants creating rapid testing devices to address challenges of At-Anywhere diagnostics. Live since January, this solution won 1st prize in HHS design-a-thon. It ingests results from labs & many FDA-approved at-home and point-of-care testing devices and providers, including Abbott’s BinaxNOW™, Ellume, and Cue™.
